After breaking Ronaldo’s record in PSG’s 1-0 victory over Lyon Messi reacts
The forward for Paris Saint-Germain, Lionel Messi, has used his Instagram account to share his thoughts on his team’s victory over Lyon on Sunday in Ligue 1.
After scoring the lone goal in PSG’s 1-0 victory against Lyon, Messi at the weekend beat Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United’s record for goals scored without being given a penalty.
Neymar, a teammate of Messi’s, sped past numerous Lyon defenders before finding the captain of Argentina, who curled a beautiful shot past Anthony Lopes.
This season, Messi has scored six goals in 11 games for PSG, and he continues to dazzle spectators with his enthralling displays.
With 22 points from eight games, PSG leads the table after the victory against Lyon.
Messi responded following the game by describing the result as a significant victory.
“Important win before the matches with @afaseleccion,” tweeted Messi on Twitter.
The 35-year-old, who is in his second season at PSG, is expected to be the driving force behind both teams this year: Argentina in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and PSG in the UEFA Champions League.
