Against Leicester City here’s why I didn’t celebrate my goals: Son
Heung-Min Son, a forward for Tottenham Hotspur, has explained why he chose not to celebrate his hat-trick against Leicester City on Saturday.
Son came off the bench with the score at 3-2 in the Premier League game after starting on the bench.
After eight games without a goal, the South Korean star ended the drought by scoring his first goals of the new season.
After suppressing any dissenters against the Foxes, Son stated: “There was no grandiose show of emotion.”
“I just wasn’t satisfied with my prospects, and I wasn’t satisfied with my performance, and I was disappointed in myself. I was a football fanatic from the beginning, and I still am. I consider football. Being an aggressive player, I become frustrated if I don’t score. How can I be happy if I have a fantastic chance to score or create opportunities?
“I probably wouldn’t be here if I’m happy and not scoring. Even if we’ve won the game, there are occasions when I go home. I’m still depressed since I didn’t perform well, there are things I could have done better, and I blew opportunities due to mistakes I made. Because I got here and this is how I am here, football is something that I think about constantly. Even at the hardest times, my love for football remains, and that is why I am here.
