Arsenal Won’t Stay in Top 4 Permanently Says Chelsea Legend Townsend Andy

With a 3-0 victory over Brentford on Sunday, Arsenal regained first place in the Premier League, but former Chelsea midfielder Andy Townsend predicts they won’t hold that position come crunch time.

With goals from William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus, and Fabio Vieira, the Gunners departed Brentford with all three points.

As we enter the international break, the Gunners have reclaimed their one-point lead over Manchester City.

In the absence of Odegaard, the Portuguese midfielder’s finish was exquisite and left a lasting impression.

However, Townsend is still not persuaded that they will launch a credible campaign.

Townsend told talkSPORT, “I don’t believe they will be right there when it matters, but I’m really impressed with what I’m experiencing right now.

With fans and some analysts already touting Arsenal as a title candidate, they have won six of the seven games they have played thus far. Their lone setback came against Manchester United on September 4.
