Court dismisses PDP’s lawsuit seeking Tinubu and Obi’s disqualification

Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, and Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, were both disqualified in a lawsuit brought by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.

The PDP had contested the appropriateness of the Labour Party and APC’s replacement of their running mates in the lawsuit with the file number FHC/ABJ/CS/1016/2022.

It pleaded with the court to order the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to restrain Tinubu and Obi from picking Kashim Shettima and Datti Baba-Ahmed as their running mates, respectively.

The party requested that the court rule that Tinubu and Obi are unable to run for office unless they do so with Kabiru Masari and Doyin Okupe, their former running companions.
