Court to make today’s decision on ex-bail AGF’s in alleged N109bn fraud
The Federal Capital Territory High Court’s Justice Adeyemi Ajayi has set Thursday, July 28, as the date for her decision on Ahmed Idris and four other applicants’ bail applications.
Chris Uche, the attorney for Mr. Idris, requested that the court grant the defendant generous bail conditions because the alleged crimes are bailable at the Wednesday meeting that was resumed.
Rotimi Jacobs argued against the bail application attorney for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), contending that the court should consider the seriousness of the alleged offenses when deciding whether to grant bail.
Jacobs added that he has roughly 10 witnesses and is prepared to wrap up the case in a week.
The matter was then postponed until July 28 so that Justice Ajayi may rule on the bail application.
