Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton will miss the crucial match against Chelsea due to a freak injury
Due to a “freak” injury sustained in training, forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin will miss Everton’s first Premier League match of the year against Chelsea.
The 25-year-old England international was sidelined for four months of the previous campaign due to a recurring muscular issue.
After suffering a knee injury that the Toffees are “assessing,” he has now suffered a new blow.
No specific date has been set for his return, according to manager Frank Lampard, who added that they are “quite sure what level it is.”
“We hope it won’t last very long. On Saturday, we shall miss him for Chelsea.
He appeared to be in excellent physical shape and was training quite well. It was a freak accident during practice, which does occur.
It’s unfortunate, but before Dominic returns, we must figure out how to maintain ourselves strong without him.
