Government revokes authorization for all private primary and secondary schools
All preschools, elementary schools, and high institutions in the state had their licenses withdrawn by the Plateau government on Thursday.
Elizabeth Wampum, the commissioner of education, revealed this during a news conference.
According to Wampum, the choice was made after it was found that 5,000 private schools were operating without a permit.
About 90% of the schools, according to the commissioner, do not follow governmental directives and policies.
All private nursery/pre-primary, primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary schools in the state would need to revalidate their certification, Wampum stated in a statement.
