Governor Okowa Criticizes Tinubu for Claiming to Be the Nation’s Best Politician

Former Lagos Governor Bola Tinubu’s attack on former vice president Atiku Abubakar has been denounced by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Tinubu was informed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice presidential candidate that he is not Nigeria’s top politician.

The governor was responding to Tinubu’s remark that Senator Kashim Shettima was a superior candidate.

Okowa advised the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate to stop the defamation campaign in a statement released by his spokeswoman, Olisa Ifeajika.

The Delta helmsman asked Tinubu to review his track record in lawmaking, politics, and government.

Okowa thought back to the interview in which Atiku repeated his desire for the APC chief to be his running mate in 2007.

Instead of responding, Tinubu attacked him, claiming that his own running mate was superior than Atiku’s.

“We know Senator Bola Tinubu as a good politician and former governor of Lagos State.

“However, we anticipate that he is aware that there are other politicians who are equally powerful, good, and patriotic, and who have made unsuccessful attempts to be statesmen.

“If Tinubu believes he is good, he should not assume that there won’t be other people in politics, where he excels, who are good or even better.

“He was free to choose his own running mate based on whatever standards he had”,

The sentence is written.

It let Tinubu know that Okowa’s work in the Senate is what gave rise to the National Health Act.

The APC flagbearer was instructed by Ifeajika to “front his contest…and leave the campaign of calumny.”

The statement said, “Tinubu should be debating matters impacting the wellbeing of the people, not discussing individuals.”
