Hasselbaink: If Aubameyang doesn’t score 20 goals Chelsea won’t win the title
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, a former Chelsea forward, has encouraged Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to surpass Diego Costa’s record of more than 20 Premier League goals scored.
In 35 games, Costa scored 20 goals to help the Blues win the 2016–17 Premier League title.
After leaving Barcelona on the final day of the transfer window, Aubameyang will be looking to end the curse.
Hasselbaink, though, does not believe Chelsea will win the championship as a result of the Gabonese goals.
“Aubameyang can score 20 goals or more,” he remarked. Do they have the team to win a championship? Still not.
“Do they have a team that can finish in the top four, contend for the FA Cup, or advance far in the Champions League? Yes.
Do they have a chance of winning the Champions League? They aren’t favorites, at least not in my opinion. But making the top four and taking home the cup this year would mark a successful campaign.
“I believe he will accept it, and I also believe Graham Potter will embrace him. Really, I don’t see any issues.
He has only participated in two games. Although he hasn’t yet done so, it will happen. You don’t suddenly start playing poorly.
