How YBNL artist Asake met Olamide got signed and is now more successful than label mates


Fast-rising Nigerian artist Ahmed Ololade performs under the stage name Asake.

He gained notoriety when he released the tune “Lady” in 2020. With the release of his hit song Lady, which went viral and garnered positive reviews from numerous online publications and A-list celebrities.

After being signed to YBNL Records by the label’s head, Olamide, Asake became famous.

Since 2020, I have texted Olamide. I said, “Baba, please help me.” Many of my pals, including Chinko Ekun and Fireboy, have benefited from your help. At the university, I was pals with Chinko and Fireboy.

He ignored my text, which was a terrible development. In the year 2021, he texted me again. Come to my place, please; we need to see. To me, it felt like a dream. Asake, would you like to join the YBNL family? he said when I arrived.
