I don’t understand your issue Jack Grealish tells a Liverpool icon
Jack Grealish of Manchester City has criticized Graeme Souness of Liverpool for his recent criticism of the England star.
Since Grealish’s record-breaking £100 million transfer from Aston Villa to City last year, the Liverpool legend has been the most outspoken of Grealish’s detractors.
Due to his meager goal and assist totals in 45 appearances, the midfielder has drawn criticism.
The 27-year-old has also been referred to by Souness as a “decent, not great player” and accused of keeping the ball in his possession for too long.
Grealish has now responded to Souness, declaring that Pep Guardiola is the only person he will listen to for playing-style guidance.
“I’m not sure what Souness’ issue is with me. While representing England abroad, Grealish claimed, “He always says things about me.
“It is challenging [to ignore] when he’s on Sky Sports and it’s all over the practice field. I’m not sure what problem he’s got because he was a fantastic player and frequently won.
“I’ll strive to do that when I play for a manager like Pep Guardiola and he tells me to keep the ball as much as I can and have the balls to take it wherever.
“I constantly review my games afterward and am quite hard on myself. I am aware that there were some contests in which I was not at my best, particularly in the second half of the previous season.
