In connection with the murder of Taraba Monarch and Son police detain suspects
The traditional ruler of the Yukuben chiefdom was brutally murdered on July 28. The Taraba State police command has detained a number of individuals in connection with the crime.
At an ambush by purported militias, the monarch Udeng Ibrahim Yamusa and his son Musa Ibrahim are said to have been killed in Takum Local Government Council of the State’s Takum.
The police commissioner in Jalingo, Abimbola Shokoya, confirmed the news on Wednesday by stating that six individuals connected to the king and his son’s murders had been detained.
The Commissioner stated that the command has begun a thorough investigation to make sure the other suspects were not spared and revealed that several of the suspects were still at large.
He described how the suspects were apprehended.
“We quickly dispatched a search party to locate and recover the Chief of Yukuben in Takum Local Government Area after receiving information that he was missing on Thursday, July 28, 2022.
But on Friday, which was the next day, the Chief’s body was found in a thicket.
We have several suspects who are assisting us in the investigation, he told the media.
