Shaka Hislop, a former goalkeeper for Newcastle United, believes that Cristiano Ronaldo’s probable transfer from Manchester United to Atletico Madrid “makes no sense at all.”

On Monday, Ronaldo traveled back to the UK to meet with Manchester United about his future at Old Trafford.

After only one season back at Man United, the 37-year-old is eager to depart the team.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been associated with a number of teams over the years, including Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Real Madrid. However, Diego Simeone’s team are the newest team to be mentioned in connection with the Portugal captain.

Given Ronaldo’s connections to Real Madrid, past disagreements with manager Diego Simeone, and the fact that he does not fit the club’s intense brand of play, according to Hislop, a Ronaldo transfer to Atletico Madrid would not make any sense.

“Of all the clubs, Atletico Madrid? According to Hislop, it’s the one that “makes the least sense to me.”

Atletico doesn’t make any sense at all among the football clubs in the world that can pay Cristiano Ronaldo, and let’s face it, there aren’t many of them.

“It doesn’t make sense. Not just because of his time spent at Real, but also because of his own relationship with the team in the past.

Atleti supporters will undoubtedly support him and cheer him on if he becomes one of them, especially if he starts scoring goals, but for the time being, there are demonstrations going on.

“It is clear to you why. Football is a volatile sport, though. Even more so is fandom in football. I still don’t get how this makes sense, though.
