Lagos Voters Nearing 7 Million Says INEC
According to figures provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos, there are now roughly seven million registered voters in the state.
This information was provided in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday by Mr. Olusegun Agbaje, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Lagos state.
He claims that there will be roughly seven million people registered to vote if all of the new registrants in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) are included.
“As of Monday (July 18), there were 640,560 online registrations in the state of Lagos, but many of them were incomplete. There are 451, 156 people who have finished the registration process.
Before the start of the current CVR, there were 6,570,291 voters registered in Lagos State. If we include the new registrants, that figure rises to about seven million, according to Agbaje.
However, he said that the CVR was still running and that the commission was still capturing additional subjects before the deadline of July 31.
