Xavi Hernandez, the manager of Barcelona, has welcomed Lionel Messi back to Camp Nou from Paris Saint-Germain.
After departing his childhood club Barcelona for PSG last summer, Xavi claimed that Messi deserves a second opportunity.
Before Barcelona’s preseason friendly match against NY Red Bulls on Sunday, the Spaniard made this statement.
“I wished Messi’s tenure at Barcelona had continued. He deserves a second stage at FCB, in my opinion. Fabrizio Romano cited Xavi as stating, “I hope so.
“If the inquiry is, ‘Would I like him to return?’ Unanimously, the response is yes! ”
After leaving Barcelona as a free agent in the summer of last year, Messi has only played one season in France.
The Argentine captain is rumored to be considering a move back to Camp Nou, where his old teammate Xavi currently serves as manager.
The 35-year-old signed a two-year contract with PSG, although he might leave the club after this season.
