Osun Guber: Edwin Clark advises the APC that good leaders should take complaints seriously
APC national chairman Abdullahi Adamu has come under fire from Edwin Clark, an Ijaw national leader, for remarks he made before the Osun governorship race.
Adamu stated that the ruling party must follow the law in order to win the race while launching the APC campaign council for the Osun governorship election.
Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the election on July 16 with 403,371 votes, defeating incumbent governor and APC candidate Gboyega Oyetola, who came in second with 375,027 votes.
Clark praised President Muhammadu Buhari, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security personnel for their efforts to ensure a legitimate and orderly election in a statement on Thursday.
However, he criticized Adamu for saying what he expected of the APC during the election, adding that there is “discontent” in the nation and that politicians ought to pay attention.
The All Progressives’ Congress (APC) National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, gave members of the party’s National Campaign Council an ambitious and excessive charge regarding the Osun State 2022 Governorship Election. “I must also heartily congratulate the good people of Osun State who behaved in a very civilized manner which produced peaceful, free, and credible results of the election which was held on Saturday, 16th July, 2022,” the statement continued.
“The country is filled with so much unhappiness. A smart leader should pay attention when individuals are grumbling. Unfortunately, some of our leaders not only make crude words but also ignore the concerns of the people with impunity.
