Patrick Vieira the manager of Crystal Palace explains why Arsenal humiliated them 2–0
Patrick Vieira, the manager of Crystal Palace, has explained why his club lost to Arsenal 2-0 in the Premier League opening on Friday.
Gabriel Martinelli and Marc Guehi scored goals as Arsenal overcame Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in front of Vieira (own goal).
The Frenchman feels, however, that Crystal Palace’s loss against Arsenal was caused by his players’ failure to capitalize on their opportunities against the Gunners.
After the game, Vieira told Sky Sports, “The difference between the two teams today was that they scored those goals, and we generated two really good chances to score.”
“In the second half, we had a really strong stretch, but we failed to capitalize on our opportunities.
“Of course, I’m unhappy because, despite the fact that we didn’t create a lot of chances, I thought we could score a few goals today. However, they scored and we didn’t.
“But scoring goals is what football is all about. We were up against a strong opposition. We had opportunities in both half, but we didn’t take them; in this game, you pay dearly for your mistakes.
