Shots Fired at Inspector Inside Ondo Police Station (Read Full Details)
A Nigerian Police Force officer from the Ondo Command was shot and killed.
In the early hours of Monday, an attack on the Okuta Elerinla Division in Akure, the state capital, resulted in the death of the officer known as Inspector Temenu Boluwaji.
SP Odunlami Funmilayo, the police public relations officer in Ondo, confirmed the unfortunate incident and said the commissioner of police had ordered the arrest of the attackers, whom she referred to as hoodlums.
“On July 25, 2022, at around 1:00 am, hoodlums assaulted Akure’s OKUTA ELERINLA DIVISION. The criminals were prevented from entering the station by police officers who were on the alert and focused on their duties.
One of our brave station guards, AP.207538 0INSPR. TEMENU BOLUWAJI, was shot during the crossfire and later passed away while traveling to the hospital. The State Criminal Investigation Department is in charge of the case, and the Commissioner of Police, CP OYEYEMI ADESOYE OYEDIRAN, psc, fsi, has directed that the perpetrators be apprehended.
He is also urging the state’s citizens to carry out their legal obligations fearlessly because “the days of these criminals are numbered,” according to the statement.
