Speaking about Aubameyang leaving Barcelona for Chelsea Barcelona manager Xavi
Despite Chelsea’s interest, Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has chosen to keep forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with the team.
Despite rumors linking the former captain of Arsenal to Chelsea, Aubameyang has been told by Xavi that he wants to be a member of his Barcelona team for the upcoming 2022–23 LaLiga season, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Aubameyang’s entourage has spoken with Chelsea about the possibility of bringing him to Stamford Bridge before the summer transfer window closes.
Following Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter Milan in June, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is eager to add a new striker as the Blues enter the new campaign with Michy Batshuayi, Timo Werner, and Armando Broja as their three primary strikers.
Barcelona, on the other hand, is willing to part with some of its high-earners since they want to reduce their payroll costs in order to strengthen their financial position.
According to the source, Chelsea has not contacted Barcelona on the potential of acquiring Aubameyang.
