Three-Day Public Holiday Set By El-Rufai For Voter Registration
Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna State, has proclaimed a three-day vacation in the state to allow citizens to finish the voter registration process before the deadline of July 31.
Muyiwa Adekeye, the special adviser to the governor on media and communications, stated in a statement on Tuesday.
All eligible voters were asked in the statement to register as soon as possible in order to exercise their right to vote.
Part of the statement read,
“The Kaduna State Government has urged citizens to sign up to vote before July 31, 2022.
In order to encourage more people to register to vote, the state administration has also declared July 27 through July 29, 2022, as public holidays.
In order to be able to exercise their right to vote, the statement from the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House asked all eligible state citizens to register to vote as soon as possible.
The government recommended that all employers actively assist their employees in registering to vote before the Independent National Electoral Commission shuts voter registration on July 31, 2022, according to the statement.
