Tuesday Will Be a Work-Free Day in Ogun For PVC Registration

Tuesday has been proclaimed a work-free day in Ogun State by Governor Dapo Abiodun as the voter registration deadline for the general elections of 2023 approaches.

The governor made this announcement in a press release released by his chief press secretary, Kunle Somorin, on Sunday in Abeokuta.

The one-day public holiday, according to Abiodun, “is to provide a window for all state employees who have either lost their cards, are not registered, or who may need to travel to their wards, local government areas, and constituencies to perfect their Permanent Voters Registration or transfer their cards, where necessary, to enable them to participate in the next general elections.”

It is impossible to overstate the importance of PVCs to the citizens as an inclusive, participatory, and responsible government.

Therefore, the governor asked all eligible individuals to take advantage of the holiday to travel to their various wards and constituencies and look for their Registered Voter Cards, complete claims and objections forms, and transfer PVCs if needed.
